When two sisters witness a ruthless drug lord Mr.Tiger and his gang take possession of their parents home, they vow to seek revenge. That revenge is carried out by forming a gang of women who are trained to fight and ride motorcycles. They devise a plan to over throw Mr.Tiger, but are stopped and they are captured. Thrown in a prison camp, tortured, and forced to become drug lab rats. With the help of the scientist who developed the drugs for Mr.Tiger, they manage to break out and over take him and his gang.

This is certainly one of the most entertaining, most cheese filled fests to come out of the Indonesian film market. Everything from bike riding mommas to sex starved lesbian wardens, this has all the action one is certainly looking for in a film of this nature. There is no need to go into this looking for any Oscar winning roles, as that is pretty much no existent given that the original audio is dubbed into English marring any real good just of a classic role. Still , that fact wouldn’t hurt the over all film, as it is already pretty darn cheesy. None the less, VIRGINS FROM HELL is a fun packed adventure displaying many exploitive elements from female love slaves, to a female warden with lesbian lust in her eye.

There is no turning her down either, she mean, lean and a damn fighting machine. Tons of chase action in this as well, from bikes to over road vehicles and even cars. Where there’s chase scenes, there has to be some fighting and gun play as well, no worries there as this have a bang em up scene right from the get go and plenty more throughout the rest of the film. If you watch closely to the action through the film, you’ll also pick up a few screw ups as well. For instance, there is a scene where the girls are escaping the prison and as they fling open the metal gate, the gate plows on of the girls right in the kisser. Hitting her pretty darn hard too, still one can’t help but laugh when catching it in full motion.

The Mondo Macabro release is not only packed with yet another excellent feature print, there are also some great extra goodies as well. Packed in a double disc special edition, the first disc housing the feature and the second disc housing all the many great extras. For the feature, it’s presented in an anamorphic widescreen ratio of 2.35:1 (16x9) with a digital 2.0 English mon track. Both audio and visually the print look very clean and fun of color. The feature runs for about 94 minutes in length. After the feature, there is a extensive overview written by Pete Tombs on Women in Chains films and genre on a whole. Also, there is the original trailer for VIRGINS IN HELL along with quick reminders of the many other Mondo releases either already released or coming soon. Mondo certainly does a wonderful job bringing a film of this stature to it’s full glory, considering the rareness of it. Another factor being the limited audience this film would have as well. This release will mostly surely expose some new blood to films such as VIRGINS FROM HELL.

Disc two only brings this special edition to a whole new level. Firstly they bring us a fist full of trailers indeed, through a 70 minutes feature titled DESTINATION: JAKATA. Contains many different trailer from films that were produced by Rapi Films, the same company that brought us VIRGINS FROM HELL. Folks, that is not all, right after going over the many great trailers, there is yet another in-depth documentary on Indonesian exploitation cinema which runs just shy of 25 minutes in length. This is a total gold mine for those fans who enjoy this genre flavor as Mondo has once again brought a little known film and thrown it to the forefront of the DVD world for complete enjoyment.
