THE MESSENGERS (2007)

Certainly looking forward to this the first American directed film from the Pang Bros. (THE EYE). It contains a storyline after my own heart..the paranormal!

There is evidence to suggest that children are highly susceptible to paranormal phenomena. They see what adults cannot. They believe what adults deny. And they are trying to warn us.

I really Love the visual style of The Pang Brothers & am too looking forward to seeing this. Word is , however , that Sam Raimi's team went back & shot extra scenes for this apparently somewhat troubled American debut. bb

RE: THE MESSENGERS (2007)

Finally got around to watching this and found it to be middle of the road. Like most Pang Bros.. films, THE MESSENGERS was very lush in it's visuals and creative with it's transitions as well as the suspense. The story was pretty good as well, really bringing the characters to the forefront, leaving the sleeping dogs waiting to the right moments. Sadly though, I believe much was lost in translation, though the Pang Bros. speak very good English, their ideas a well suited for the Asian market and with THE MESSENGERS, they people that were surrounding them just didn't get the ideas right for the Western style..Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy this film, though it had some much more potiential...A very weak ending as well I found added to it's somewhat demise.... This is certainly a far cry from THE EYE, though it is still very much worth a viewing!
