SILENT NIGHT, BLOODY NIGHT (1974)

Watched this for a second time late last night and realized even more just how darn eerie this one is. Directed by Theodore Gershuny, SILENT NIGHT, BLOODY NIGHT (1974) in my opinion is a forgotten diamond. Mary Woronov is very good in it and the way the tale of the Butler house/asylum is slowly unraveled as the place is about to be sold and murders of people familiar to it occur is well achieved. There were more than a few chills felt while watching and the murder sequences were highly effective, especially that gory bedroom double axe dispatching in the first half! WOW!

This is a long lost relic of a time when horror could be superbly made at next to nothing. Great John Carradine role here too! We need a special edition DVD of this ASAP!! Who else loves this one?Smile

K, showed this to a new girlfriend of mine who LOVES horror films (I know how to pick em'Wink ) and we both agree, this is such a creepy gem. Fucking way too underrated...a CN review is an inevitable must now.

Where oh where is the special edition restored DVD of this one? Somebody jump on it!

Yeah I have this film on a 10 movie pack from Brentwood. I like the plot for the film and John Carradine in it. I know this film was like from 1974 so the kills in it weren't great or even good by any means but I still enjoyed it for what it was.
