Uwe Boll behind the camera again Directing like a Video Game player with a thumb bashing banality that this time aplies to the game Far Cry. Now I'm not familiar with this Video Game but I'd say the movie strays quite a bit from the gameplay !.
Once again the production value for what is likely a mid budget production is pretty darned good. What starts out with a fast paced horror themed Action flick, however, soon subsides into a laclustre formula that will barely entertain the beer & banal brigade outside of the true Uwe Boll fan base.
A great shame in many ways as this contains one of the Great death sequences, and effects moments you are likely to ever witness. With an unseen entity ripping into a special forces unit tarpped in a forest locale at night the last hapless survivor has his head pressed into a wire fence & the result is quite impressive !.
What starts out as a frenetic potential fright fest turns into a tepid turn on Universal Soldier & seems to make up a change in rules as it goes along, almost rendering the unstoppable creations into meaningless machinations able to be stopped by a poke in the eye by a granny wielding her walking stick !.
Laughably viewable as a one time late night time waster & an extra bonus point for having Udo Keir on board as the resident scientist gone schizoid over his ungodly creations. bb
