Fulci's MURDER ROCK (1984)
About to dive into the X-Rated DVD of this Fulci offering, I have yet to see it. One of the few I have yet to see..I've always been a fan of Ray Lovelock as well and of course Al Cliver. Nice to see Geretta Geretta in this as well..Any thoughts?

RE: Fulci's MURDER ROCK (1984)
lots of people slam this movie because of the dancing sequences and th score by keith emerson which captures the 80s mood really well. in fact some of the songs - such as "not so innocent" are actually quite catchy.
the film generally however is not quite as stylish as fulci's earlier gialli in the late 60's/early 70's, and perhaps for some, not quite splattery enough.
the cast is pretty good too - with lovelock, olga karlatos, cosimo cinieri and claudio cassinelli as well. al cliver's role is pretty minimal but nice to see him show up in a little cameo appearance.
one of my favourite sequences, and certainly the most memorable, for me, is a dream sequence when karlatos is persued by lovelock in a white room - the music is suitable, it is atmospheric and it is very very well shot.

Yeah, it's a fine and stylish giallo that have a lot of nice sequences, but of course no gore - but I don't watch Fulci-movies for the gore, I watch them because he's a damn fine director! I'm just watching Manhattan Baby for the first time now, so I will start a thread about that movie to.

You know, i really enjoyed this Fulci quite alot! There was nothing wrong with the dance scenes at all..in fact they were rather sexy all those sweaty females! Yes, like Kit mentions Fulci's ability to capture and bottle the essence of 80's pop culture as well is amazing!
