I recommend ABOMINABLE unreservedly. It is the best Yeti movie since THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN, made way back in 1957.

Shot in 2004 and released in 2006, ABOMINABLE stars the great Matt McCoy, who doesn't work as often as he should. Everyone remembers McCoy for his 2 guest appearances on SEINFELD as the gum-chewing recovering mental patient Lloyd Braun. McCoy plays another troubled character in ABOMINABLE – a crippled mountain climber suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

According to IMDB, McCoy has appeared in two other Bigfoot/Abominable Snowman-themed movies: Bigfoot: The Unforgettable Encounter (1994) and Little Bigfoot (1997).

ABOMINABLE has an amazing cast: Lance Henriksen as a hunter who admits he "just likes to kill shit"; Jeffrey Combs as a grizzled, chain-smoking gas station attendant with emphysema (!); CSI: Miami regular Rex Linn as "Farmer Hoss" and horror fixture Dee Wallace Stone as his frightened wife; and the late Paul Gleason as the most narrow-minded and blinkered sheriff in history.

This film is extremely well-made for a debut effort by Ryan Schifrin, who coaxed his dad Lalo to contribute an effective score. Ryan Schifrin is definitely a directing talent to watch, and yet he doesn't seem to have another project lined up yet.

With elegant cinematography provided by Neal Fredericks (killed in a plane crash in 2004), ABOMINABLE is a low-budget film that looks expensive. Quite an achievement!

The man-in-suit monster is plenty scary too!

I was suprised how much I liked this movie. Lance Henriksen, Dee Wallace, Jeffery Combs, it was a great cast. And of course Matt McCoy. I agree, he should work more. It had a few derivitive elements, but was really fun. I liked how Lance Henriksen and Combs had different roles than I have been acustomed to as of late.

My only criticism, which is hardly one, is how the monster was near invisible for most of the film, then shown a bit too much in a slightly hilarious manner.

I was also suprised while the opening credits rolled that this was done by Lalo Schifrin's son. I hope to see more from him as this was a great first film.
