Really very excited about having just bought a bunch of old pre-records, among them some Bruno Mattei madness, COP GAME (1988), in the form of a rare Canadian tape.
A Mattei I have yet to see and look very much forward to, the cast alone is mouth-watering for a Eurotrash junkie such as myself. Brent Huff takes his first leading part in an Italian action opus, fresh off of stuff like NINE DEATHS OF THE NINJA (1985), Fred Olen Ray's ARMED RESPONSE (1986) along side legend, Lee Van Cleef and the U.S./Argentinian, STORMQUEST (1987). Joining him is the relatively unknown (at least to me) Max Laurel, who had popped up in Mattei's ROBOWAR - ROBOT DA GUERRA (1988) prior. As usual for this period in Bruno's prolific career, COP GAME was shot in the Philippines.
Also on hand are Romano Puppo, Werner Pochath, and Candice Daly (all of whom are no longer with us and greatly missed), as well as Robert Marius, Claudio Fragasso and Castellari regular, Massimo Vanni.
And this is yet another in the strange cases of Luciano Pigozzi, who although credited, apparently does not appear (???). Can anyone shed some light on that?
Can't wait to kick back with COP GAME later on and I look forward to comments on the film here at CN.
