Is anyone who frequents this forum old enough to remember SCARLET STREET MAGAZINE (http://www.scarletstreet.com)? It specialized in vintage horror/mystery movies from the 1930s to the mid-1960s; it had a rather pronounced gay slant that turned off some readers. However, SCARLET STREET'S content and design were usually first-rate, with incredibly layered, detailed and trivia-laden features on Golden Age veterans of Hollywood horror and suspense films. Well, Scarlet Street's editor Richard Valley has entered the Valley of the Shadow, from which no traveler ever returns. Dead of cancer at age 58. Sweet Jesus, but there's a lot of that Big C goin' around!
Doesn't anyone here give a damn that RICHARD VALLEY IS DEAD? Check out http://www.scarletstreet.com and see what you've been missing.
Oh man, that is sad.
I read this a lot in High School, and was always excited as the POBox was in my home town.

RIP.

Excellent magazine. I had a few articles published there and found Richard to be a good writer and editor with a vision.
