Being a big fan of Italian film scores, especially those of Goblin, Fabio Frizzi and Enio Morricone. I was drown to Annihilator not only by it's creator Chris Alexander, but by it's reason into being, Mario Bava's PLANET OF VAMPIRES. Locking himself in his basement studio for hours, jamming of sorts to the images provided from this gothic sci-fi/horror classic. The end result, an almost carbon copy update from the original score provided by Gino Marinuzzi Jr and Kendall Schmidt. Dark, evil and very trippy, Annihilator displays the raw talent of Chris Alexander and his true love for this very unique genre of music. Almost trance like, it drips with gothic heavy synths and a futuristic ambience. Annihilator is just over 30 minutes in length, this doesn't miss the essential feel of Bava's intent for PLANET OF VAMPIRES.
