After following this great magazine out of the UK for many years now, I would have to say it is still leading the way for Horror and Cult cinema followers. Unlike many other magazines of the same caliber in size, we won't mention any of them, Dark Side has remained true to it followers. Never really selling out to the mainstream, and still able to touch base with the small, lesser known films that are pumped out annually. In the latest issue (#103), the people of Dark Side continue to dazzle it's readers, including moi. In this 60 odd page offering, we are graced with an exclusive interview with the Living Dead King George A. Romero and the latest developments with his fourth installment into the Dead series. Conducted by Steve Biodrowski, this in your face interview is plastered with colourful pics and stills from Romero's living dead threesome. A look at Abel Ferrara's classic DRILLER KILLER on the uncut UK shiny disc! Also, an article on the legendary horror icon, Lon ChaneyJr. called HAIR OF THE DOG. Folks, it doesn't stop there, there is also Dark Side's own Horror Guide, DVD library, tons of first class reviews.
The pages seems endless in this issue, other great articles include one on the Nasty Nazi flicks, Hidden Talents focuses on the career of director Jack Shoulder, an Interview with Vernon Sewell and of course the letters to editor Allan Bryce. I must highlight one thing about POST MORTEM, look close enough you'll notice that good old Cinema Nocturna gets a nod via a letter from our very own Michael Bolvary! Cheer's Michael! Anyhow, ending this, I would like to further by saying don't wait to pick this issue up! You are certainly missing out on another grade A from the world class of contributors that grace Horror's Royal pages! Kudos' to Allan Bryce, Alan Jones, Jay Slater and everyone else that make Dark Side one the world's leading authorities on Horror and Cult films! Here's looking to issue #104!
