‘‘So what you’re saying is , they’re back !’’

The Interceptor Force gang are back with a very welcome bang. Olivier Gruner returns as team leader Shaun Lambert to square off against the invading scourge of the universe , and this time its got a boob job !.

Opening with some visual CGI candy to please even the most resolute of repressed youth within us with a dazzling turn of speed. The UFO equivalent of a warp speed Ford Mustang zooms along the intergalactic highway , supped up with an Alien nitrous oxide spike , and zipping past planets like they’re space vehicle lane cones. This baby is fast and headed straight for Planet Earth , with an envisaged rear window nodding Alien pet that would rip your arm off for attempting to pat it. The super charged pilot is a vengeful relative looking to finish what was started in the original , and if it crosses Olivier Gruner’s path during its objective of Alien terra forming then so much the better. Prepare then for the rematch of the 21st Century as Mother Earth rejects another Alien spawn , aided by son of a gun Gruner as the worlds ‘Last Line Of Defence’ !.

Introducing Gruner on a similar par to the jaw dropping opening set sequence of ‘Interceptor Force’ the movie kicks into high five gear right from the outset. His character Shaun Lambert slips into Steve McQueen mode as he jumps astride a motorcycle to make his ‘Great Escape’ , having outsmarted Chechnyan guards on his mission to deactivate a downed US surveillance space satellite. All pre credit and all preposterous but most definitely all Action escapism of the outrageously entertaining kind.

With the movie engine stoked the storyline kicks in as Russian jet pilots engage their Mig’s with the Earth bound Alien craft , which in the after battle toll only the galactic craft survives. Not without battle scars ravaged along its hull , like a go faster stripe etched onto the Starsky and Hutch mobile by Huggy Bear high on a Seventies retro gig , and a failing internal combustion that sends it crashing down to terra firma. The crater it creates is nothing compared to the whole lot of carnage it’s occupant has been sent to do. Embodying the first human form it sees the Alien creature soon takes on a female form. Time for the out of this world babe to go primal and let loose a calculated rage of destruction upon an army base , blowing away soldiers like a mail order Russian bride. Resplendent with black leather jacket with a faux fur collar she’s one lethal Terminatrix that the called upon Interceptor Force need to bust , and boy what a bust this is for them to go up against !.

The Alien femme fatal is on the path to a nuclear reactor plant that is rated as being more powerful than the catastrophic one at Chernobyl. If this one goes up so do shares in dust pan and brush sales for one third of the Earth’s neighbouring populace !. Immediately into the fray are air dropped the ‘I Force’ team , together they are the worlds best hope for survival. Olivier Gruner heads up a crack unit of elitist professionals , each bringing a unique skill and individuality to the cause. Elizabeth Gracen ( TV’s ‘The Raven’ - a classy hot chick ‘Highlander’ spin off show ) is Sikes , fighting fit and armed to her tenacious teeth with a kick ass attitude. Adrienne Wilkinson plays the dowdy scientific geek initially in true plain Jane style , but this doctor of delectability later comes out of her shell with true Xena Warrior Princess sensationalism. This is one sexy lady that even the staunchest of vegetarians would go back to their meat for !. These bodacious babes do not look out of place amidst the pumped up testosterone of the male line up that is also pretty formidable. They come prepared for a war and the artillery they bring backs that up. An Electro Magnetic Disruptor weapon , a Microwave Rifle and a Chain Gun beef up the usual array of lethal enough side arms. The shopping list of weaponry is not of the type to be found at your local K Mart !.

With their Russian hosts being downed like bowling pins , at a strike rate that belies any human standing , its time to send in the marines. Decked out to the nines and armed to the hilt Olivier Gruner steps his ‘I Force’ up to the plate , like super leaguer Joe Damagio’s draped in full body armour and roll called by Arnold Schwarzenneger. Into the breech step the do or die soldiers as the outside door to the nuclear reactor closes firmly shut behind them. Its now them against the Alien aggressor in a realm of tight quartered corridors , setting familiar scenes from ‘Aliens’ with each juncture a turning point for a surprise attack. Their duty is to secure nuclear containment and initiate Alien extermination with extreme prejudice.

Prepare for an Alien encounter of the splatter effect kind as the assault team let loose their weapons of destruction upon the well upholstered invader. The chain gun stops this queen of the outer reaches with a multi splice action that betters any advert seen on the home shopping network , but you just can’t keep a bug ugly off worlder down for long. The chameleon genes kick in and she’s soon setting a detonator for the most unimaginably destructive explosive ever seen on planet Earth. Powerful enough to have a worldwide effect and kill one hundred million people.

With the clock ticking down to an outside counter strike by the allied military air strike forces what’s left of the Interceptor Force take a stand , and team leader Lambert squares off against invasive guile for the fight of his life. It’s human against Alien in a race against time in an all out battle for the survival of mankind. Neither side is taking any prisoners !.

A hugely entertaining sequel that explodes across the screen right from the outset and rarely slips down a gear on the Action front throughout its perfectly balanced running time. Big , Big Fun and after the Universal dust settles there’s still enough fuel in the tank to top this off with another sequel. Where there’s an Alien threat Olivier Gruner and the Interceptor Force won’t be far behind , and on this showing here’s hoping for a regular invasion.
